Our founder, Lars Jensen, after a decade of guiding independent treks across Norway, observes a growing disconnect between tourists and the authentic spirit of the places they visit. The seed for Nordic Horizons is planted around a campfire on the shores of the Geirangerfjord.

2015

Nordic Horizons is Born

Lars officially incorporates Nordic Horizons, operating from a small office in Copenhagen. The first-ever tour is crafted for a couple from Canada—a 12-day bespoke journey through the Norwegian fjords focusing on hiking and local food. The overwhelmingly positive feedback validates the company's core philosophy and sets the standard for all future journeys.

2016

Expansion into Sweden & Denmark

Building on the success in Norway, we expand our portfolio to include fully bespoke tours in Sweden and Denmark. We onboard our first local experts in Stockholm and Aarhus, establishing a network of trusted partners, from archipelago guides to culinary insiders, ensuring our standard of authenticity is maintained across all three countries.

2018

The Sustainability Pledge

Recognizing our responsibility to protect the pristine environments we operate in, Nordic Horizons launches its formal Sustainability Pledge. When I first started guiding in the Norwegian mountains many years ago, I saw two kinds of travelers.
